Although the Super Duplex Ss 2507 Flanges tend to be 10% lighter as compared to the conventionally used austenitic grade 316 steel, this super duplex stainless steel alloy is ideal for use in sub- zero applications. Since, the flanges produced from this alloy grade result in weight saving, the fabrication cost as well as overall production cost for the 2507 Steel Flange is lower. Further its lower gauge without a compromise in terms of its mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength and its superior corrosion resistance, make this Super Duplex alloy grade a more cost effective solution as compared to thicker nickel alloys. Most stainless steel grade F55 Super Duplex 2507 Flanges manufacturers recommend using this alloy because it is easily machined and welded.

Super Duplex 2507 F55 Flange is easily weldable. Manufacturers can use many of the standard electric arc welding processes, used to weld regular austenitic stainless steel grades. Although welding the Saf 2507 Duplex Flanges using the oxyacetylene welding technique is not recommended by suppliers because of the carbon pickup, which may occur in the weld metal.
These Super Duplex 2507 Flanges are used in various equipment across many industries such as equipment in defence, pollution control, chemical processing and marine industries as well as in the oil and gas industry, and food industries amongst others. Similar to grade 316 Stainless steel, this Super Duplex 2507 F55 Flange can also be used for marine applications because of its high resistance to saltwater and brine as well as chlorine ions present in high sea environment. Especially as the alloy is resistant to chlorine ion stress related corrosion cracking. Hence, Super Duplex 2507 Flanges manufacturers advise buyers to use this stainless steel grade for various applications involving the marine industry.
Super Duplex Flanges are similar to austenitic class duplex stainless steel grade. Just like duplex grades, super duplex stainless steel grade has a mixed austenite / ferrite microstructure in equal proportion. Due to a duality present in the microstructure phase of the material of Super Duplex Stainless Steel Flanges the alloy has a higher tensile strength as opposed to both conventional ferritic as well as austenitic stainless steel grades. The main different between both these stainless steel grades is that Super Duplex Flanges manufacturers in India increase the content of elements, i.e. – molybdenum and chromium in the alloy. The addition of these elements by Super Duplex SORF/ Blind/ Weld Neck Flanges aids in the increased resistance to corrosion.
