Some of Titanium’s most useful properties are its high tensile strength, low density, stiffness. It is nontoxic & non-magnetic. The tensile strength of the alloy ASTM B381 Grade F2 Flanges vary from 210-1380 Mpa, although titanium loses its strength when heated beyond 430 °C. It has good heat transfer properties, a poor conductor of electricity and highly resistant to electricity. Titanium has a high melting point of 1668 °C or 3034 °F. Titanium is also very ductile.

Since titanium is light weight it proves to be beneficial for high-performance applications like aerospace construction as they allow weight savings. Titanium Flange can be strengthened by addition of metals to their alloys. Alloying titanium ensures its good resistance to corrosion from very low to elevated temperatures. For example, titanium when alloyed with other metals like aluminium, vanadium, iron and molybdenum produces strong and lightweight alloys. These alloy grades can be used for military, automotive, aerospace (jet engines, missiles, and spacecraft), agri-food, medical purposes, industrial processes (chemicals and petrochemicals, desalination plants, pulp, and paper)

An important part of using it is the production of Titanium Exhaust Flange . The most common metal used to alloy titanium is steel. Addition of steel makes the alloy strong and more resistant to corrosion. It prevents rusting. Another advantage in od producing Titanium steel alloys is its low density. The alloy has a density that is less than half that of a pure steel alloy.

Titanium can be passivated by water and atmosphere. During passivation, it forms a shell of Titanium dioxide around the metal. This metal oxide protects the bulk metal from being oxidized further. Therefore, it has excellent resistance to seawater. When titanium is passivated with air, it becomes highly resistant to corrosion. While it can have a high resistance to mineral acids, organic acids, dilute hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid and chloride solution, Titanium gets corroded by acids in concentrated form.
