Difference between Hot-Rolled (HR) and Cold-Rolled Stainless Steel Plate ?
A hot rolled SS plate is formed by pressing steel at temperatures of 1700 degrees F, which are above its re-crystallization temperature. This allows the steel to be formed easily and the subsequent products easy to work with. The process begins when steel billets are heated and sent for processing, where it is run over a series of rollers to give it accurate dimensions.
In cold rolling of the plate, the plate is processed further after the HR process. During this procedure, the plate is processed to give it good tolerances and a smooth finish. This physical process is initiated to shape the module in get precise dimensions to meet specific requirements.

5 major difference between SS Shim and SS Strip

Difference between SS Coil and SS Plates
SS plates are flat structures, while SS coils are plates, which are rolled in bundles. A plate can be made with materials of different thicknesses. Not all types of material can be rolled in the form of coils. Coils can be easily transported from one location to the other while transporting plates is difficult. Long plates are difficult to process, so coils are used to reduce the space requirements of the component. Furthermore, the coils can be cut in exact sizes and lengths in the form of plates after they are processed. Coils are a cost-effective solution compared to plates.
