ASTM F468 Alloy 400 is a nickel- copper based alloy. Monel 400, by weight contains about 67% Nickel along with 23% of element copper in its alloy. Fasteners produced from ASTM F468m alloy 400 specification tend to usually be quite resistant to sea water as well as steam at even at high temperatures all the while also displaying resistance, when exposed to salt and caustic solutions. Monel 400 is a solid solution alloy which can only be hardened by cold working method. This nickel based alloy exhibits several beneficial characteristics such as good resistance to corrosion, good weldability and high strength. The ability of the ASTM F467/F468 alloy 400 to display a low corrosion rate in rapidly flowing brackish or seawater combined with Monel’s excellent resistance to stress related corrosion cracking in most freshwaters, and not forgetting its resistance to a variety of corrosive media containing environments led to this metal being widely utilized in marine applications as well as other non-oxidizing chloride solutions. This ASTM F468-16 nickel alloy is known for its particular resistance to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated.

ASTM F468 Uns N05500 is an alloy which retains the excellent corrosion resistant characteristics of alloy 400 while offering  properties such as its enhanced strength and hardness after precipitation hardening as compared to alloy 400. Alloy K500 or MONEL K500 as it is referred to,  has approximately three times the yield strength and double or two times the tensile strength in comparison to alloy 400. The ASTM F468 Uns N05500 could be further strengthened by cold working  the alloy before the precipitation hardening process. MONEL K500 has excellent mechanical properties from a temperature range between sub-zero temperatures right up to about 480C. Alloy 500 also is known for its corrosion resistance in an extensive range of marine and chemical environments as well. Which is why, the ASTM F468 MONEL K500 specified fasteners can be used in various media i.e. from pure water to mineral salts, non-oxidising mineral acids and alkalis as well.

ASTM F468 Bolts covers wrought titanium & titanium alloy fasteners such bolts, screws, and studs. The specified ASTM F468 Titanium Fasteners are produced in inclusive diameter M6 to M36 in nominal thread diameters between 0.25 inch to 1.50 inch . These materials can be manufactured to according to any of the following specs – i.e. -  ASME B18.2.1, ASME B18.2.3.1M, and ASME B18.2.3.5M. ASTM F468 Grade 5 also referred to as R56400 are fasteners which can be either cold formed, hot formed, or machined from suitable material.

ASTM F468 Uns N10276 is a nickel- molybdenum- chromium based superalloy. Hastelloy C276 has an added content of tungsten in its alloy, which means that this particular alloy has been designed to offer good performance in terms of its excellent corrosion resistance, even when the alloy has been exposed to a wide range of severe environments. The high contents of both elements - nickel and molybdenum make this ASTM F468 Material nickel steel alloy especially resistant to pitting as well as to crevice corrosion in reducing environments. On the other hand, the element chromium aids in  the alloys resistance to oxidizing media. The low carbon content in Hastelloy C276 ASTM F468 Fasteners minimizes the occurrence of carbide precipitation during welding in order to maintain corrosion resistance in ab as-welded structure. This nickel alloy grade also demonstrates good resistance to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone. Hence, the ASTM F468 Uns N10276 tends to be well suited for use most chemical process application in an as welded condition.
