Titanium is a solid chemical element and is known for its low density, high strength-to-weight ratio. Titanium Grade 5 Round Bar offers high strength with lightweight and is highly corrosion-resistant. It has a tensile strength of 1100 MPa and a yield strength of 1070 MPa. This can also be used in applications having temperatures up to 400 degrees Celsius. Grade 5 Titanium Bar has 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium and 0.2 % of oxygen. This makes it stronger than pure titanium grades 1-4 while having the same thermal properties. Grade 5 is known with the name 6al4v Titanium Rod.

It is biocompatible and can be used in direct contact with tissues or bones, however, its common market is the aerospace industry. These rods come as ASME SB 348 gr 5 Titanium Rod which is used in welded construction at temperature up to 600 F and has a modulus of Elasticity of 114 GPa which makes it strong as steel but 45% lighter. Another standardized version, ASTM B348 UNS R56400 Hex Bar gives a hardness of 16.4 and tensile modulus of 114 GPa. In terms of Werkstoff Number DIN 3.7165 Flat Bar was introduced. It has a diameter in the ranges of 6-200 mm and tolerance limits from H8-H13. These bars are manufactured with a forging process and later hardened by annealing.

Grade 5 titanium threaded rod has a low density of 4.42 g/cm3 and equivalent to forged or wrought material. In case a higher fatigue performance is required, the micro-structure can further be improved. Grade 5 titanium filler rod is used for gas-tungsten-arc-welding and plasma-arc-welding. It has a tensile strength of 895 MPa and a yield strength of 830 MPa.

Titanium is used to produce Alloy Grade 5 Square bar for its strength and toughness. It gets hardness between 340-380 Hv and 10% elongation. It is used in engineering construction, mining infrastructure. Titanium Rod Grade 5 comes in different standards such as ASTM SB348, ASTM B348, and dimensions as EN, DIN, ASME.
