A round bar is a cylindrical metal bar having a 5mm to 450mm radius of length 2 to 6 meters. The bar and rods are available in hexagonal and square shapes as well. One such is, UNS S32760 round bar which is equivalent to Werkstoff NR 1.4410. It comes with a 10 to 100 mm diameter, the ultimate tensile strength of 750 ksi and can take minimum stress of 550 N/mm2. Super Duplex UNS S32760 Bars have high resistance to pitting corrosion and chlorine ions. These bars are heat-treated at 1100 degrees Celsius followed by water quenching. They come in different standards, one such is ASTM A479 UNS S32760 Hex Bar comes with different tolerance levels e.g. H8 - H12, K10 to K12. These bars are used in marine, food, and surgical industries.
F55 round bar is produced by the combination of rolling and forging techniques. They are used for applications flame hardening for surface hardness is required with the common standard of ASTM A182 F55. Another bar standard UNS S32760 F55 Rods has high fatigue strength of 450 MPa and an elastic modulus of 200 GPa. Further, it has a high melting point of about 1410 degrees Celsius. F55 is the common industry name for UNS S32760 stainless steel. Industries use ASTM A276 F55 Duplex Round Bar for its high mechanical strength and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Its thickness ranges from 3 to 12 mm and ISO Tolerance level is h11, h11-DIN 1013. It is a ductile product and thus its application in railway engines and coaches.
Duplex Stainless steel has varied category such as Zeron 100 Round Bar which is a highly alloyed metal. It is used in environments that contain aggressive media as it has the capability of sustaining itself with a PREN value of above 40.
