Super Duplex stainless steel is the mixed structure of austenite and ferrite in equal ratios. It has higher molybdenum and chromium content which normal duplex steel lacks. The ASTM A240 UNS S32760 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Plates have a density of 7.8 g/cm3 and a specific gravity of 7.8. It has a modulus of elasticity of 200 GPa and thus useful in seawater desalination plants and chemical units. The ASTM A240 UNS S32760 Plate has a high melting point at 1350 Celsius and high tensile strength in the ranges of 109k to 135k psi and minimum yield strength of 80000 psi. It is heated at high temperatures and this causes 25% of elongation per 2 inches of length. Super Duplex Grade UNS S32760 Chequered Plate cannot be hardened by heat treatment, however, it is solution treated or annealed after heating it to 1100 Celsius and cooling it rapidly by air or water at room temperature. It has a hardness of a maximum of 290 HB.
SA 240 UNS S32760 Sheet has a specific heat capacity of 466 J/kg - k and a melting range of 1400 to 1450 Celsius. The average coefficient of thermal expansion between 20 to 400 Celsius is 14. Due to high temperatures, it is used in nuclear industries and chemical plants. Super Duplex Steel S32760 Strip is equivalent to Werkstoff Number DIN 1.4501 has a thermal conductivity of 12.8 W/m K and a Young modulus of 189K MPa. It has a yield strength of 550 MPa and a hardness of 270 HB. UNS S32760 Super Duplex Perforated Sheet comes as a hot rolled plate sheet having a high tensile strength of 834 MPa and elongation upto 36% per 2-inch length. It has good localized resistance against pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion in comparison to S32205. The SA 240 UNS S32760 Shims sheet supports workability in the high temperatures of 950 to 1150 Celsius. But the strength increases abruptly below 900 Celsius. However cold workability requires proof stress is high.
UNS S32760 F55 Coil supports TIG Welding but the interpass temperature should be less than or equal to 100 C to prevent any changes in microstructure. These are used in pressure units. SA 240 S32760 Foil requires solution annealing at 1100 Celsius and its thickness ranges from 0.01 to 1.2 mm.
