2507 Duplex Stainless Steel Bar, could also be referred to with its trade name, i.e. the UNS S32750, which is a super duplex stainless steel. Chemically speaking, the composition of this stainless steel grade of Super Duplex 2507 Castings  consists of  25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, along with 7% nickel. The alloy for Super Duplex 2507 Round Bar has been designed keeping in mind the metals use in a variety of demanding applications which require both exceptional tensile strength as well as superior  corrosion resistance. Key sectors that use this alloy grade include industries  such as chemical processing plants, petrochemical industry and seawater equipment. The steel Super Duplex 2507 Bar offers excellent resistance to chloride ion stress related corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The addition of elements such as chromium, molybdenum, and nickel in the Super Duplex Round Bar   in a high content, provides the alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion.

These Super Duplex 2507 Rods could also be utilized in the power industry FGD systems, utility and industrial scrubber systems, absorber towers, ducting, and piping along with Desalination plants, high pressure RO-plant and seawater piping as well.The 2507 Threaded Rod should be hot worked between a temperature range which falls between  1875°F and 2250°F. Hot working the 2507 Flat Bar alloy must be followed by a solution annealing treatment at a minimum temperature of about 1925°F. Once the SAF 2507 Round Bar has been solution annealed, the alloy needs to be cooled by either a rapid air quenching or water quench.

Most of the common stainless steel forming procedures can be applied  for cold working the Super Duplex Steel 2507 Hex Bar. The 2507 Duplex Steel Flat Bar alloy typically tends to offer a higher yield strength as well as lower ductility properties as compared to the standard austenitic steels. Hence,  fabricators, who typically work with stainless steel grade 2507 Round Bar generally find that there is a need to be make certain modifications while fabricating this particular grade of stainless steel. For e.g., manufacturers of the  2507 Stainless Steel Round Bar recommend the use of higher forming forces, increased radius of bending, as well as an increase in allowance for spring back as a necessity. Various operations such as stretch forming, deep drawing,  and similar processes are more difficult to perform on alloy grade 2507 as opposed to the more conventional austenitic stainless steel grades. While performing forming operations on this alloy grade, the stainless steel grade 2507 Rod requires a cold deformation of more than 10%, along with treatments such as a solution annealing treatment, which is then to be followed by quenching. All of these developments have been recommended by both manufactures and  suppliers as well.

Super Duplex 2507 Round Bar has to mandatorily be solution annealed and quenched after undergoing either hot or cold forming. In order to obtain maximum corrosion resistance, heat treated products i.e. Super Duplex 2507 Castings need to be pickled and rinsed, after Solution annealing at 1925°F and Annealing immediately by a rapid air or water quench.

Since the alloy for Super Duplex 2507 Bar owns good weldable properties, this alloy grade could be joined to itself or other materials by using different welding methods. For instance, the Super Duplex 2507 Round Bar using methods such as either shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), flux cored wire (FCW), or submerged arc welding (SAW) could be used to weld the alloy. A 2507/P100 filler metal is suggested by the Super Duplex 2507 Round Bar suppliers in India while welding stainless steel alloy grade 2507 because using a filler metal will produce an appropriate duplex weld structure.

Pre heating of alloy Super Duplex Round Bar  is not essential before welding the metal, although an exception can be made in order to prevent condensation on cold metal. The interpass welding temperature range for Super Duplex 2507 Bar must not exceed a temperature of more than 300°F or the weld integrity can be adversely affected. The root needs to be shielded in order to achieve maximum corrosion resistance with either argon gas or 90% N2/10% H2 purging gas. Though the latter provides better corrosion resistance, as opposed to the later.
